as the world sleeps

 

                That urgent feeling

                Got a poem in my head 

                Gotta write it down.

                

                 Morning softly wakes.

                 Pencils down, everybody.

                 Return to your life.

fly by night

 

                                                                                                                                Finally, the night

                                                                            Time to be alone and free

                                                                             Spread my wings and fly

lower the anchor

                                        prayer

  something's missing, Lord

Your ways are right, I trust You

even when it hurts

burning the plow 

can't quite burn it down

i give it, still kicking, to You

my fingers uncurled

wee hours

insomnia wakes

peeks out, it's time for lurking

perched upon my brain
